DIVORCE
The process of bringing a marriage or domestic partnership to an end is often an emotional and stressful time for all parties involved. Our attorneys will assist you in navigating through the legal processes with ease and provide their best recommendation on the best option for your case. CHILD SUPPORT Each parent is equally responsible for the support of their minor children. In any child support proceeding, the amount of child support is calculated by a computer program the “statewide uniform child support guideline.” CHILD CUSTODY/VISITATION As one of the biggest concerns for many clients, and with a handful of parents on our staff, we will assist in creating a custody and visitation plan that best suits your family dynamic and negotiate on our clients’ behalf to reach an agreed-upon plan. SPOUSAL SUPPORT California law provides that spousal support or “alimony” may be granted to either spouse in a proceeding for marital dissolution or legal separation. Whether you are seeking or have been asked to pay spousal support, it would be in your best interest to seek legal guidance from experienced counsel. |
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic Violence goes beyond physical abuse. It can be emotional, psychological, financial, religious, and/or sexual. Domestic Violence is any abuse between romantic partners, or family members. If you are in fear for your safety, and/or the safety of your children please contact our office immediately for a free half-hour confidential consult. MEDIATION Mediation is useful when you and your spouse agree on most of the aspects of your divorce but want a neutral person to assist you in arriving at an agreement on all of the pertinent issues that must be submitted to the court. In Mediation, the mediator can help you and your spouse identify the issues for discussion, gather and exchange information and documents, explore settlement options and facilitate the resolution of issues to the satisfaction of both of you outside the public Courtroom. ESTATE PLANNING One of the most important things you can do for your family is to plan for when you are no longer around or able to make decisions for yourself and/or manage your property/finances. Having an estate plan in place will bring you and your loved ones peace of mind. |
What is a Certified Family Law Specialist and why should you hire one rather than a non-specialist family law attorney?
*The managing attorney of our practice is a Certified Family Law Specialist "CFLS," but what does that really mean? A Family Law Specialist is an attorney that has been certified by the State Bar of California as an expert in the area of Family Law. That is, a CFLS has the requisite years of experience in litigation (trial experience) and mediation (settlement agreements), and has passed a comprehensive family law exam, thereby demonstrating that they have the necessary knowledge in family law to be deemed an expert in their field.
When hiring an attorney, whether you end up hiring our firm or not, we always recommend that you hire a specialist. Hiring a Certified Family Law Specialist will ensure that you don't ever leave anything on the table whether you end up litigating the case or negotiating an agreement. If you do hire our firm, you can rest assured that you are getting the best possible outcome given the very specific facts of your case.
